CHAIRMAN NOTE

National Youth Organization of Pakistan (NYOP) works with Pakistani and South Asian migrant communities since 2013. NYOP is registered with the State of New York, Department of State under Section 402 of the Not-for-profit Corporation Law in 2013 and also having Tax Exemption status with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under section 501(C)(3).

Our main operations are to organize Youth Education Programs, language programs, interfaith dialogues, and cultural integration programs. Our language programs help Pakistani immigrants get comfortable with speaking English; for example, NYOP created a program for women who found it difficult to speak the English language. They were tutored by the organization’s members in preparation for their citizenship exam. Our interfaith dialogue is an interaction between different religions residing in the same community to produce a positive conversation. Our purpose is to get young people involved in their communities and help immigrant families stay connected to their heritage.

Pakistan has an estimated population of 243 Million while 60% population living on or below the US $4 per day. We have approximately 63% young women and men that consider high ranking in the world. Many millions of these young men and women do not get adequate support, facilities, and avenues to access opportunities for training, education, and skills development so that they could ably contribute to the betterment of society. In the present international scenario, we need a modern/liberal and effective result-oriented action plan which would lead the youth into a positive direction and create a healthy attitudinal change for the moderate, enlightened, and Peaceful society. We stand at 161st position in UNO Human Development Index 2022.

We carry out our aims by working with the community board, local organizations, and NYC elected officials. NYOP also works closely with local colleges and universities. NYOP believes that “Each generation should live better than last”. We are trying to play our part in helping Pakistani youth to have a better future. If we join ideas, resources and strength we will plant good seeds for the future of a Peaceful world.
